Welcome to the realms of Hull University Tenpin Bowling Club (HUTBC). We are an Athletic Union affiliated club and a member of the British Universities Tenpin Bowling Association (BUTBA) and cater for bowlers of all standards from complete novices through to seasoned veterans.
The club regularly competes with other universities throughout the year in a variety of BUTBA run tournaments encompassing The BUCS (British Universities & Colleges Sport) Championship, The BUTBA Cup and The Order
of Merit series.
The club runs its own in-house league where club members can participate to learn the principles of Tenpin Bowling, hone their skills or simply have some fun with ACTUAL prizes handed out at the end of each semester (so it really is worthwhile).
The weekly league takes place every Wednesday afternoon (excluding holidays) from 1.45pm at Hollywood Bowl
Hull (Kingswood Leisure Park) costing just £8 per week for three games (Annual Club membership fees apply).
Interested? Contact the Club Committee for further details.

Additionally both have shown immense levels of commitment since joining the club last October (2010) which was recently underpinned by their desire to join the clubs Committee.
The outgoing committee would like to congratulate them both and wishes them continued success in the future, both on and off the field (… lanes) of play.

Saturday (19th February) saw the 2011 Sheffield Quads (Student Division) Tournament take place.
Hull University sent 2 teams this year Hull A (Mark Aldred, Lleufer Sinsua, Mitchell Wilson and Peter Pearce) and Hull B (Nick Colley, Mike Gaskell, Dan Cornelius and Adele Louth).
Although we’re pleased to report that both teams performed more than amicably, it was Hull B who truly shone. Picking up an Overall 2nd place, managing a 2nd in the Doubles Section and winning the Trios Section! (Securing the first silverware for the club this season).
Club Captain Mark Aldred didn’t let the B Team have all the limelight though and came away with High HCP Game, bowling a massive 282 (232 on Scratch alone!)

Sunday (21st November) saw the 2010-11 BUCS Cup group stages take place.
Hull University this year had been drawn in Northern Group A along with Sheffield University and arch rivals Leeds University (now bolstered by HUTBC’s former president Pete Thornley) - How fate works her wicked ways.
The day had started well for Hull initially playing Sheffield and managing to come away with a 9-7 victory (securing 3 points in the process).
However come the match that really counted once again Leeds’ elite bowlers were far too strong for Hulls A and B teams, not even a 263 game from Vice-President Luke Fenton was enough to snatch any points and a brace of
4-0’s put an end to any hopes of HUTBC progressing any further in this year’s tournament finally succumbing to an 11-5 defeat and in doing so having to settle for second place in the group.

Saturday (9th October) saw the BUTBA Masters (Invitational) Tournament take place.
Three bowlers that represented Hull during the course of last season (09-10) were invited to take part in the handicap section and we’re pleased to announce that all three of them performed well.
Peter Thornley (who will be bowling for Leeds University during the 10-11 season) won the section, with current club members Mike Gaskell placing 3rd and Mitchell Wilson finishing a respectable 6th.
